Happy Tuesday! Thanks for joining us this week. Today, we’re handing out some Coachella awards; can you guess who’s winning the biggest flop? We’re also giving you the scoop on Taylor Swift’s new albums, highlighting the smartest brand collabs and answering your burning questions about working with us. Let’s get right into it.

The Coachella Breakdown

If you live under a rock and haven’t heard of Coachella, it’s an annual music and arts festival in Indio, California. Every year, artists, influencers, and music lovers flock to the valley for both weekends of the three-day festival.

Here are all the headliners:

Both weekends have similar if not the same lineups and shows. Unless an artist is sick or unable to perform, you’re not missing out by choosing one weekend over the other.

This year's surprise guests included Justin Bieber, Kesha, ASAP Rocky, Childish Gambino, Olivia Rodrigo, and more.

Coachella Awards

Biggest Flop:

Grimes’ performance for weekend one of Coachella was pretty disastrous. Halfway through her set, she explained to the audience that her mixes were double the speed they should be and unmixable. She screamed into the mic a couple of times and had trouble keeping her cool.

Weekend two was a different story. Her performance was nearly perfect and she even started off making fun of her previous set, displaying comments like “Grimes can’t mix,” behind her.

Most Creative:

Sabrina Carpenter wowed the audience both weekends with her undeniable stage presence. She brought out Norah Jones as a surprise guest for weekend two and was overall a fan favorite.

She’s known for creating a new outro each time at the end of her song “Nonsense”. For weekend two she nodded to her rumored boyfriend and Saltburn star, Barry Koegan. The lyrics are a little risqué, so proceed with caution here.

Best Throwback:

Coachella brought out fans of all ages this year, with two bands that gave fans some 90’s nostalgia.

After Sublime’s frontman Bradley Nowell’s untimely death, fans thought they’d never get the chance to see them live again. But Bradley’s son, Jakob Nowell has joined his dad's bandmates Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson to make the band complete once again. This was their first major performance, and will likely be releasing new music soon.

No Doubt took the stage once again with Gwen Stefani's powerful vocals making waves in the crowd. They brought on surprise guest Olivia Rodrigo combining a 90’s favorite with a present 2000’s favorite that fired up the crowd.

Most Likely to Eat It:

Kid Cudi had to cut his performance short after awkwardly losing his balance and then jumping off stage to inevitably break his foot. He was helped up by security guards and hobbled off stage, not being able to perform the rest of his set.

He later tweeted that he broke bones in his foot. Kid Cudi was added to the lineup late, and only performed during weekend two so fans were extra disappointed.

Best Surprise Guest:

Headliner Lana Del Ray was super popular this year, with thousands of fans flocking to her stage. She made quite the entrance, riding on the back of a motorcycle through the crowd.

She shocked fans with Billie Eilish, who sang “Ocean Eyes“ and “Video Games“ alongside the singer. This duo was expected but not unlikely with Billie publicly saying her music would not exist without Lana’s influence.

The Juiciest Album Ever?

Taylor Swift's latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," has shattered streaming records on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music since its release. Dubbed the most-streamed album in a single day on both Spotify and Amazon, it also propelled Swift to become the most-streamed artist in Spotify's history in just one day. Additionally, the track "Fortnight," featuring Post Malone, clinched the title of Spotify's most-streamed song in a single day.

Apple Music crowned the album as its "biggest pop album of all time" based on first-day streams. Despite Swift's understated promotion, the Swifties rallied behind the album, showcasing their unwavering support through a streaming frenzy. As Swift's success continues to skyrocket, collaborators like Post Malone and Florence and The Machine may also reap the rewards of heightened exposure, while legendary artists mentioned in Swift's lyrics, such as Patti Smith and Stevie Nicks, could attract new fans.

Here are the key takeaways:

  • There was a nod to Charlie Puth with the line “You smokеd, then ate seven bars of chocolate / We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist".

  • Taylor broke the 4th wall with this line: "Screamin', 'But Daddy, I love him / I'm having his baby' / No, I'm not, but you should see your faces" - "But Daddy I Love Him"

  • Two songs target Kim Kardashian, “thanK you aIMie” and “Cassandra”

  • “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” seems to be a serious dig to (allegedly Matty Healy).

As an influencer, do I get to decide what partnerships I accept or decline?

Of course! Our job is to present offers to you. You get to choose what offers you accept! We would never make you partner with a brand you aren’t 100% on board with.

Will you reach out to brands I want to partner with?

100%! We’ll ask for a list of your dream brands. If we already have a connection to them, we’ll present your channel. If we don’t, then we will begin our outreach process!
