The Influencer Newsletter

Happy Tuesday! Thanks for reading along this week; we have some exciting things to cover. First up, MrBeast won’t post on X just yet and we’ll tell you why. Also - there’s a new, environmentally friendly brand on the block. On top of that, how to perfect transitions with Premiere Pro, and one of our team members’ favorite creators!

Let’s do it!

MrBeast Gives X the Ax

Jimmy Donaldson, the popular YouTuber known as MrBeast, declined Elon Musk's offer to showcase his videos on X (previously Twitter).

MrBeast clarified that the expenses associated with his content creation surpass what X could cover financially. He currently spends millions of dollars to make videos each month and noted that YouTube gives him the financial returns to keep uploading. He remains open to collaboration in the future if X enhances its monetization features and can give more to creators. Elon Musk has ambitious plans to evolve X into an all-encompassing app, with videos playing a central role in this vision.

Defunctland

Defunctland is a fascinating YouTube channel that makes intricate documentaries on old parks and rides that are no longer in service.

“I love how Kevin meticulously researches his subjects and weaves that information into a cohesive, enthralling experience for his viewers. It’s absolutely fascinating to hear the history behind failed theme parks and rides!” - Devon

This week, we’re continuing our series surrounding Premiere Pro and the features it has to elevate your content.

When it comes to editing vlogs for YouTube, a get-ready-with-me for TikTok, or a day in your life on Instagram, it’s important to have seamless transitions between each clip. Thankfully, Premiere makes it easy.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Create a new project. Select the media that you want to use and click Create.

  1. From here, you have a couple of options, you could left-click on the beginning or end of your clip and select apply default transition.

  2. Or you can navigate the workspaces panel on the top right corner of your screen.

  1. Once you select the workspaces panel button, select Effects in the drop-down list that appears.

  2. A list of effect options will appear, but you want to click Video Transitions.

  3. There are plenty of options, including dissolves, slides, and wipes.

The workspaces panel button will look like this:

  1. Once you find the effect you want to try, drag and drop it onto the beginning or end of your clip.

  2. If you want to change the length of your transition, just left-click on the transition like this:

  1. Feel free to try out as many transitions as you want until you find the perfect one.

  2. To delete a transition just select it on your clip and press delete.

Happy editing!
